He started yelling at someone on the video, while he was doing this really cool hi-hat, cross stick pattern. It's amazing, the shit he owns. He doesn't think, he just DOES.

Tonight, Daz will put up the Mad About You from SNL, and it is killer, pay attention to the interaction between Sancious and Vinnie during the keyboard solo. Just awesome.

Weckl did the same thing in NY a couple weeks ago. He was turned around adjusting something while groovin' and was not even detectable...simply wicked stuff. He was not mad at all and over the course of the night I saw him make only one negative face which I think was the result of not getting a smooth multiple bounce off a ride...once

Mad About You from SNL
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I watched the original broadcast...the first time I saw or heard Vinnie play. They played Purple Haze too, I was so blown away.... There's a great video drum angle during the bridge of Mad About You.

Hi Guys,

Yeah, Vinnie did it very well here again.
But to me nothing new in this "7 Day" that we don't have heard already isn't it ?
Just my opinion.

Still good anyway...

Peace.

Well, nobody really said there was anything new there. In the past few months, there were a couple requests for the Letterman performance, so here it is.

Drumskull,Brill stuff ,thanks for that. 2:30 , implied modulation , love it - this is another example of more is more lol 3:20 Sting " come on vinnie" a singer egging on a drummer? Wow , that's strange. some of his setups into the chorus are a little different , but whether these are new/ fresh ideas i do not know ( obviously new in this context though)although it seems like he's played every permutation , possible hand combination /time signature and tempo judging by his clinic performances. oh while i'm on the subject of clinics , i'd like to let all of you who haven't read the Licks encyclopedia thread know that i've nearly cracked the first ten minutes of the vinnie germany solo that steve has on this site

Nice sample there! Great performance by Vinnie of course - as usual. Cool how Sting goes "Come on Vinnie" and he pulls out a killer fill. Was a pleasure to listen to this.
